Let me tell you about my new grandson (now there are
three grandsons: John, Daniel and Nathanael)
Here is nutty nurse with her newly arrived baby boy. Poor things .. sleep deprived, food and drink deprived, adjusting to a whole new world of experiences, the both of them. But they are keeping me busy and not only Nathanael has lost weight this week. I, too, have lost .... half a pound! Mock not - that is a result by my recent standards. When congratulated, I can only muse upon the ease of being a Grandparent compared to that of being a parent. All I did was drive the parents to hospital and then visit the threesome a few hours later. That is so much easier! Of course there was the whole production and raising of the new mum herself - now that is another story. We have also learnt a new Spanish phrase: enhorabuena - literally 'in a good time' but it's congratulations, just the same.
In addition I have been able to justify retail therapy - all on account of a new baby grandson - bibs, sleepsuits, aids for the new mummy and extra food of course. 'Mother, stop buying things' .. where have we heard that expression before?
A safe arrival makes me so conscious that children are a heritage from the Lord and we praise Him for this family blessing. 'Little ones to Him belong.. they are weak, but He is strong'.
It makes one consider the amazing creation of a new person made of millions of cells from one fertilized cell, just the size of a full stop. Truly we are fearfully and wonderfully made. All the instructions for the baby are minutely detailed within that original dot.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellousPsalm 139 v 14.
are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."

Congratulations!
I'm happy to see the Family growing (3 grandsons already). Children really bring happiness to a family (but also don’t leave time for a rest). God bless all of you.
